I posted a little while ago a concern about a motherboard for my 385XD
which the tech said was defective because the computer locked up after
being left unattended. This motherboard was the second to be installed
in the thinkpad, because the first one had an intermittent fault which
prevented it from working with an Enhanced Port Replicator. The tech
ordered another motherboard and tried to install it this morning. This
afternoon he told me that he had not been able to boot up after
installing this third motherboard, so he has put the second one back
and has ordered yet another one from IBM.
Is it likely that three successive motherboards would be defective? Or
am I jinxed? Or is he?
