Bill, it's a 'feature' of compressed movies that the people doing the
compression have to pay particular attention to busy scenes that don't
compress very well. A well-known scene that defeats MPG2 for example is the chariot race from 'Ben Hur'. It's likely that the 'slow motion'
effects are an artefact of the compression algorithmm or standard.
