the 570 plus the ultrabase is about the same size as the 770..i have not
investigated a PCMCIA DVD CD, in fact, i didn't know one existed, though
i'm unsurprised that they do.. :-)
you should note that the 570 DVD and the 600 DVD are the same part, and
are as rare or more rare than the 570 is..
at least up to last week..

hard to judge this until you actually do the famous "airport
throw"..this is where you inadvertantly throw your thinkpad across an
airport..
sometimes they survive, sometimes not..
i would say the 570 is hardier than the 560..
it felt sturdy, anywany..
(i had one for a customer in italy who allowed me to play with it for a
weekend)
