The 4gb drive "clink"ed when shaken, but didn't clink when in operation.
It made a whirring, fan-like noise, which did not change much while in
operation.

The 10GT gurgles when in operation. No clinks. It also makes the background
whir, a bit quieter than the 4gb, but also has a high pitched overtone.
For whatever that's worth.

Note that the 14gb drive is listed as being approx 10 decibels noisier.
The 10gb is supposed to be in the mid 30 decibel range when on and in the
high 30's when operating. The 14gb is supposed to go into the 40's. As I
read the Travelstar product spec pages.

Anyone have any ideas on why the winmodem would stop waking from
hibernation? If not, what IBM phone number should I call for support?
