Whew--that sounds like a last resort! Nothing is apparently broken, so I
would leave well enough alone.
It wouldn't hurt to go look in Device Manager and see if there are any red X
or yellow ! markers.
Windows is usually pretty good about moving itself from one configuration to
another. That's what it has to do all the time to support docking and
undocking. I moved a complete Windows 98 configuration from a generic
desktop to a TP770 by simply transferring the entire file structure and
rebooting. Windows went out and redetected all the hardware and just came up
running. All I had to do was install the IBM utilities.
