I have been fighting with the 1480A for the last couple of days on my 600.
My relatively old TP600 needed a BIOS update to recognize the card at all.
It now works in Win95. I can't say anything about NT, though.

Perform a search on "1480" on IBMs web site. You should get a link to the
respective page.
