Many thanks to all the people who responded with comments and
suggestions about my difficulties with suspend mode on my 385XD. Now
that the technician has put the correct system board into the computer
the problem is almost fixed.
But when the Thinkpad had a 2635 EAU (380 XD P2) system board the
Thinkpad configuration utility showed that this was the system board,
which was the first clue to me that a mistake had been made. Now that
the correct board is in place the Thinkpad configuration utility does
not show anything for the system board, just a blank. Is this a
problem?
For what it is worth the system seems faster now that I have the system
board in place for which Windows 98 and OS/2 were installed. Does this
make sense?
