hello all
i have just inherited a 750 and it is the perfect thing for my son to do his homework on etc.
it has the stock 340 meg hd and has 20 megs ram
it WAS working properly, that is until an external mouse was plugged in the side and then
'accidentally' pulled out of the socket while the thinkpad was on.
now, my trackpoint only has horizontal capabilities, the vertical does not work
i get an error 8611
all diagnostics state that the machine is OK. in fact, an external ps/2 mouse works flawlessly.
i have tried initializing the bios etc etc etc
i am perplexed. does anyone have an idea as to what might need checking as the machine is on the
old side. is it possible that the transposer card could have gotten ruined when the mouse was
pulled out?
also....does anyone know of a source for a IDE cable for the dock II ?
>from what i can .tell, it is not standard.
thanks in advance
charles
