Looking for some advice from fellow ThinkPad NT users.
I have a 770E (9548-52U NT4/SP3 preload from IBM).
It has 224 MB of RAM and triple boots NT4, IBM PC-DOS 7,
and Sun Solaris 7 (UNIX) using Vcom System Commander.
I have an IBM 8 GB disk.
I am having some problems with various apps under NT 4
crashing with an access exception (Excel from Office 97/SR2
and Eudora 4.2 from Qualcom). This then brings up the
MS Visual C++ debugger which shows the assembly code for
the app (real handy!) ...
I was wondering if anyone has experience with SP4 or SP5
on the preloaded NT ThinkPads?
Should I try SP4 or SP5?
Would either screw up Card Wizard and the hot-plug of modems
under NT? (I use a TDK PCMCIA modem as the 770E has no built-in
modem).
Email to me directly or replies to the list would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Stuart
