Does anyone have any experience using this function (in TP Configuration >
Power Management > Advanced ? I would like to be able to leave the laptop
on Standby, rather than the much slower resuming Suspend, without
compromising security. However, when I check this function, it doesn't work
when resuming from Standby (Fn-F3). On the other hand, when this function
is checked and I use Suspend (Fn-F4), what happens when I resume from
Suspend is this: I get the usual lock/HD symbol and enter my power-on
password, then the computer does its usual resume routine, but now it puts
up a Password window and will not accept my password. I then try to turn
off the computer, and get a double beep each time, so that finally I have to
reset and restart.

Any ideas or experience regarding this would be much appreciated. IBM
telephone support hasn't a clue -- their data base contains only the
suggestion that the user make sure NumLock isn't on. Thanks -- Jeff
