If the unit is not stressed, it is Ok.

Prolly best not to do the high hurdles routine
through the airport if the case is real close.

I picked up a low cost Kensington case, which
is a little more roomy, but less padded. Had
to augment the padding with foam rubber. But
it repels water, is light, and has enough extra
room to carry some files and supplemental
laptop gear.

Just don't cause the machine to be stressed
"out of square."
