I think the ultrabay battery has roughly the same run time as the internal
battery. With both in my 600E I get about 5-6hours of run time.With just the
internal battery I get 2:30 - 3 hours.
I like the second battery in the ultra bay because I don't have to stop my
work, suspend, change batteries, and then resume work. It just automatically
uses the ultrabay battery first. That way if you need to use your CD-ROM or
ZIP, your internal battery still has juice while you remove the ultrabay
battery.

alongside the first (two batteries in the unit) or
to insert the 2nd battery as soon as the first
