Yes, 'ps2' is indeed a DOS/Windows program, but it *can* be used
to put the TP-755CX into 800x600 mode for running X under Linux.

The idea is to boot into DOS, run 'ps2 mode3x on', and then boot
into Linux using the 'loadlin' program. I have been running
X under Linux on the TP-755CX for a few years using this scheme,
and it works just fine (alright, so it's a little roundabout,
but once Linux and X are up and running, everything's smooth).

A very interesting and promising prospect is the 'tpctl' program
   being developed by Thomas Hood:

      http://jhunix.hcf.jhu.edu/~thood/tpctlhome.htm

This may eventually remove the need to use the 'ps2' program,
and even to have DOS installed on the TP-755CX.

And finally, I'll second the thoughts of the original poster:
the TP-755CX is a very fine computer indeed!

Cheers, Joseph
