the 380 will accept up to, at least, a 6.4gig drive (and maybe even the
14gig (i need to check on this)) and you CAN upgrade it yourself..
its really easy.. you can reuse the bracket thats there as well...
lartge HDD's are getting cheaper and there is no reason upgrading the
drive should cause any warranty problems..
the drives usually have at least one year and more often 2 or 3 year
warranties..
in fact, a 10gig i sold to a fellow which subsequently started to get
flaky, was replaced by ibm directly!...
i know this since i helped him get his data off this particular drive...
(he HAD recently upgraded the OS, i think, and this might have had some
part in the "flakiness")
