I finally got this to work by getting another copy - first version must have been corrupted.
As far as I can tell this is a very nice utility, that all TP owners should keep around. Ditto for
the (windows only) SMART drive software at the same site (though it is annoying that the latter installs itself in the startup
directory).
Thanks to Juan-Carlos Lerman both for posting the original pointer and for encouragement
when I had problems. Now, if only I can find out why my TP560 2gig drive model is not in the IBM
list of current and discontinued drives...
