If you have another computer with Windows98 installed, make the Boot
Disk. Boot the thinkpad with this disk, create the primary partition, and
be sure to make it active, reboot, and fun Format C: /s. Reboot again,
still from the floppy, and it will offer you a choice to boot with CD-ROM
support. I then recommend you copy the Win98 directory to the Hard drive,
reboot without the floppy disk, and run setup from the Win98 directory on
the Hard Drive.
Do this with the machine undocked, and no PCMCIA cards installed. Then
install Video Driver ("Features") Utilities, Capture, Audio, Modem, MIDI
files, etc. The order should not matter much.
PCMCIA support should be in the Windows98 installation, and will occur when
you plug in a card..
When finished, shut down, dock the machine, and power up. It will create a
new configuration called "Docked" and should find the drivers in the Win98
directory. If you leave this directory intact, any additional accessories
will install without asking you for the CD-ROM disk.

Richard
