The only cure for this occupational injury is to stop using a ThinkPad.
That's clearly a case of the cure being worse than the disease. But there is
a preventative therapy that can minimize its severity: Change the TrackPoint
cap more often.

When the cap wears down and loses its rough texture, you naturally
compensate by using more finger pressure. Replace it with a new one and it's
amazing how light a touch it takes by comparison.
