Jeff,

I'm guessing a slightly thinner machine, but not as thin as 600, perhaps
with lighter weight materials. Maybe a curvier, dare I say sexier, case,
but I would not hold my breath on that. Just read about new graphics chips
for laptops that I bet we will see on a 770 replacement. Definitely a +20gb
hard drive. An UltrayBay CD-RW drive as an option is a possibility (if not
by IBM, then by someone else).

These are just speculations. Others here can probably do better.

Bill -

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't imagine going back to a lower
resolution screen, though I'd sure like to see it on a 600 model (with a
lower profile so that sharp corner doesn't bite my wrist when I type).
Couldn't afford to replace the 770z anyway, just wishing. . . -- Jeff

To all:

Doubtful that the 770 has bit the dust. None of these new models have the
higher resolution screen (1280 x 1024 pixels) and the new 20+ GB hard drive.
These are the things that set the 770 apart from the other models. I'm
disappointed that the higher resolution screen has not made it into the 600
series. Perhaps there is a technical complication that prevents this from
being done.
