I've just got hold of a 755CX with a busted screen cable.
I have a 755C that is getting a bit old in the tooth, though will still cut the mustard as a standalone screenless (or external monitor) linux box as a firewall or some such. The battery is knackered, so I'd prefer to use the 755CX from now on when mobile.
So, my options are:
1) Fix the screen cable. THis means a session with a soldering iron and a scalpel and a load of potting compound. But it will be a pain to do and may be unreliable.
2) Can I use my 755C screen on the 755CX - the connectors look roughly the same?
3) can I get a cable from IBM (unlikely), or is the other end soldered down?
