Andrew,
To see if it is indeed a BIOS limitation. Create a Partition Magic Standalone
boot diskette. Or just run PARTINFO after booting to a DOS prompt. If it still
only reports 8GB of space then it's a BIOS hardware limitation, and you'll need
something like Disk Manager (mangler ;-) in the boot sector, to fool any OS into
the >8GB availability. I believe that the powerquest web site does document and
explain the different disk-size Wintel speed-bumps. Good Luck

Rich

I've got my new 10gig HD in the ultraslimbay and I'm playing with
it with Partition Magic v4.

No matter what I do, it reports only 8047.2MB. Is this a
limitation of my TP600? Is there some way to get at the other 2gb?
 I don't care if it's a separate partition. IBM's site seems mute
on this subject.

Thanks!

andrew
