Bill,
A little known fact is that adding a 2nd drive will not change drive letters
of the first drive if you do not make the 2nd drive a bootable drive. There
are several advantages of having multiple partitions on a drive. For
WinNT, make c: a 2 GB FAT-16 file system so you can boot your TP from a DOS
diskette to troubleshoot files on c: if you cannot boot-up from your hard
drive. Make your 2nd partition NTFS. For Win98, make c: FAT-16 and your 2nd
partition FAT-32. Multiple partitions will also help you organize your data
to prevent disk fragmentation and will allow you to more easily do selective
backups. And you can resize the partitions with Partition Magic if you need
to.
