Hmm. I'm still using the original trackpoint that came with my
701 four years ago. It's worn down a little, but still has a
good, rough surface. The spare that came with the computer
must be in its bag ... somewhere. So there must be a huge gap
in quality and/or a huge gap in usage, both amount and softness
of touch.
