I am also in a struggle with customer service. I bought an extended
warranty last month for my (refurb)560X, and I've been trying to
activate it since the package arrived. The sales department insists it
sold me the right package, the activation department insists their
computers won't register it, and the warranty department is handled by
an answering machine (really! nobody seems to know the answer, and they
eventually transfer me to someone's voice mail. I never get a phone or
email response).
If anyone knows whether or not refurbished machines *do* qualify for
extended warranties, please let me know. Otherwise I'm going to write to
Lou and reserve a few choice words for the hierarchy of IBM customer
service.
