Not sure about the floppy problem, but I've been through the 256 color/750
series problems a few times. First, dl the Win 3.1 driver from the IBM
Device Driver matrix. When you explode the diskette, it'll have a setup
program on it, but beware, it won't work if your running FAT32. You can
manually copy the files to the hard drive. What you're looking for is the
VESA driver. Check the readme for the exact syntax, but adding the line
("Device=C:\Vesa\VESA.exe" I believe) in your Config.sys will let you
select 256 colors after rebooting.

Just a stab in the dark for the floppy problem...did you flash the BIOS?
