I have got my IBM travelstar 4.6GB up and running in my 755CX now, and it's really good. Seems to use less juice as well.

Interestingly it ALSO WORKS completely in the 755C, for anyone considering a disk upgrade.

I copied a win95 partition image onto the new disk, this didn't work (wouln't boot) until I copied it to the first partition, and then did a SYS C: from another partition under dos. You have to cd into windows/command before invoking SYS.

I've got linux on there as well, and will soon put on WFW 3.11. There is a large (2GB) FAT16 partition for my files, so I can access them from both linux and Microsoft o/s's.

God praise linux and dd for copying all those partitions around!

Now to fill it up - and wish I'd got a 9 gig drive.... or 12...

Happy New Year to all.
