We have a great 701C with all the original equipment (14.4 internal modem,
720 hd, 16 ram, etc). Everything had been working fine. Windows 95A has
been on the machine for several years, with no problems. The machine had a
1995 bios, and we recently installed the latest available bios (ver. 3o -
dated 2-16-96).

After the bios installation the modem no longer works, and the computer
freezes up whenever a connection is attempted. This is true when trying to
dial up our service provider, get on line or access e-mail. When we tried
to use just the telephone dialer, the same thing happens.

Does anyone have any ideas? Could the latest bios be the problem? Our next
attempt is to try a PC card modem, but thought we'd check with the list
first.

Thanks for any help.
