Actually, I think it was earlier than that, as when I got my 1451 in April
'98, I couldn't get an extended warrenty from IBM.
However, when I got both my ThinkPads from Corporate Raider, they had GE
service contracts and I got them for both units. They're three year
extentions on the warrrenty. Perhaps others can get a such a contract
with GE?
