This depends a bit on how old one's software is, and how well one made notes
w/every
upgrade/service pack. I have avoided a fresh reinstalling W95 on one of my
machines because
it would involve 10-15 service patches/upgrades even *after* reinstalling all
the software, and I'm not sure I have all these patches in storage.
