I've seen the 240 up close, and while it looks nice, the fact that the
insert/delete/etc cluster of keys is squished into the rest of the
keyboard instead of in the top right like normal TP keyboards was a
no-no for me. I bought a TP for the keyboard... so I'm not giving that
up for slightly less weight. If all you want is small size, there are
non-IBMs that have keyboards very similar to the 240, and they include
CDROMS, higher resolution screens and better battery life. If IBM made a
TP that was shallower in depth ie keep the full size keyboard but remove
the palm rest, I'd buy it. The Omnibook 800 comes closest to that ideal
form factor. Too bad it gets really warm after a few hours' use and the
screen makes my eyes tire quickly. Oh, and the battery life stinks too.
For now the 560 form factor works for me.
