Hello ThinkPad Users,
Running Win98SE on my 770ED, I find that after "a while", the
production of a system sound (like an error "chord") throws the sound
system into a mode where it just repeats the first .25 - .5 seconds of
the sound over and over and over and .... The sound production can be
stopped by muting the speaker, but comes back when the speaker is
un-muted. The only other ways I've found to stop the sound are reboot
or playing a sound file from Windows Media Player. The WMP playing is
normal, and all is well until the next time a system sound is
generated.
After a reboot, everything remains normal for some time. Of course,
since Win98SE is not all *that* more stable than Win95 OSR2B, chances
are that I was about to have to reboot soon, anyway. :-(
Anyone else see (hear) anything like this?
Ron.
