Hello.
The problem is not AOL, nor your thinkpad.
The problem is the software AOL uses is set up for a standard modem, and
does some strange things once it connects, like rewrite the modems look-up
table!. Perhaps, look for a patch on AOL?. I found one a few months back for
somone else who had the same problem on a Sony laptop. I do not use AOL, and
so I kept no files.
