Compact flash adaptors and power...

Hi there,
    I'm just curious if compact-flash adaptors(such as SanDisk) require any
power from the PCMCIA socket when there is no media in the card. Since I
only have this one 760ED, I'm probably just going to keep it in and not
bother taking it out. My battery on my 760 is pretty depleated, so I try to
conserve as much power as possible.
