Apparently you're not counting well, as the number of responses
I've seen are about even, pro and con.

Further differentiation can be found in that the majority of the
"pro" opinions for the i-series seem to come from people who haven't owned
a "real" ThinkPad before, and therefore have no basis for
comparison. While the majority of the "con" opinions come from those who
know what owning a real ThinkPad is like, in all its fit-and-finish totality.

In summary, the majority of the "pro" opinions on the i-series
come from people who haven't really known any better. With all due
respect, that's like asking a teenager what they know about love--they
think they know a hell of a lot more than they really do, lacking any real
perspective or experience in the subject, and in fact they confuse it with
cheap sex. Quite frankly, an opinion with little knowledge or experience
behind it isn't worth as much as one that has those features.
