in this HDD capacity debate, the 17mm drives all spin at 4900 & 5400 RPM, the
12mm drives all spin at 4200 RPM..
also to be considered is that toshiba has 1meg buffers and IBM still has
500~k buffers...
how much the buffer size relates to data throughput is a topic for others..
