I had been told by an IBM "agent" at ShopIBM that the 600 and the 770
had "...reached the end of their product cycles..." that the 770 would
be difficult to get at all... but that the 600 would be around until
perhaps September or October. She also said the A and T series would be
difficult to get initially because the first orders would go to special
departments of the government, and to regular big corporate purchasers
who had a long history with IBM... Order now and expect one in three to
six weeks, she said... but it will depend on the orders from big
customers.
