Interesting though it is to see the spec for the new A and T models, I
can't help but worry that evryone is jumping the gun at buying so soon...
I have deliberated for a while about what I would like to see in my next
laptop and it comes down to one important (and currently scarce) ingredient
-a good graphics chipset/Video Memory. These new models certainly deliver
on this front, but at a premium price.
I know that in UK, prices will not be as keen as in the US for these models
- hell, the 600 is still about (equiv) $4200 + for the entry/base spec (no
DVD) model !!
On the other hand, Sony, unlike IBM, sells through more independent
outlets and the prices for their range is very competitive... the brand new
Z600 R is already being discounted on the street... I don't think I can
wait 2 years to see the A or T 's being offered at a 'sensible' price - for
a non corporate buyer anyway!!
