I now have *one* data point that may be an indication that my problem
is solved. By that, I mean that I have attempted to burn one CD-R at
4X, and that attempt was successful. It was the first successful
attempt since I installed Win98SE.
What changed? Well, I disabled my Ir port. I've been meaning to do
that for quite a while, since it's been my experience that ThinkPad Ir
ports are nothing but trouble.
Time will tell if I'm right!
