Here's one more--and this all applies to the ThinkPad case as well as the
LCD. Don't use straight isopropyl/rubbing alcohol--dilute it 50-50 with
water (filtered or distilled is good, regular tap water is OK). I keep a
bottle pre-diluted ready to use. Be sure it's isopropyl and not some other
kind of alcohol--I've heard that "rubbing alcohol" may not be isopropyl in
some countries.

If you don't have cotton baby diapers handy, a 100% cotton dishtowel is fine
(I agree about not using terrycloth). You don't need to buy diapers just for
this. <g>

Sometimes a stubborn oily spot will not clean off with the alcohol. When
that happens, I rub my finger on a wet bar of soap and then gently apply
that to the oily spot, then clean off the soap with the alcohol solution and
wipe dry.

If you use any kind of spray solution, *never* spray it directly on the LCD.
Too much chance of it seeping past the edges of the screen. Same goes for
CRTs and mirrors. You've probably seen car rearview mirrors damaged by
direct spraying: They get a spotty corrosion around the edges.

50-50 isopropyl/water is a lot cheaper than any kind of specialized spray
anyway, and it's just as effective.
