Boy, this brings back memories--I had one of those when they first came
out...
Someone on the net has a page on putting Linux on a 700C and was happy
with it. I'm not sure they got 256 colors, but I know IBM had an upgrade for
it under Windows 3.1. It was messy, but there.
Linux could do a lot of stuff in 12M. I don't think you could do too much in X
without swapping, but as a terminal it should work wonderfully.
