Spent the afternoon at a coffee shop, ran for 3:15 with 8% left at the
end.
I used the 'Super Power Saver' profile and then set the screen to the
second brightness level. Spent about two hours in Word2K (no crashes!),
even left the winking wire running. Very light disk access during this
time.
The last hour I fired up Winamp with some MP3 files and plugged in
headphones. While listening I put in the IBM Software Selections CD,
explored a bit, and made a copy of it to the hard drive. I spent the
remainder of the time poking around the system, checking out Config Safe,
etc.
So my very brief experience suggests that 4 hours is possible, but 3:30 is
more reasonable with moderate use. I'll watch it again while working in
Photoshop and report back.
BTW I was reading a manual and thought I'd blank the screen to buy some
time. Fn-F3 would blank the screen *and* stop Winamp. Since I really
wanted to listen, I just let the screen burn. Any ideas on why this would
happen?
