I apologize for thinking you were running W2K. Please write my brain-fart off to
the fact that I was trying to catch up on several days worth of messages last
night while very fatiqued after a 5 hour drive from RI home to NJ.

I've always used Winfax Pro on my W98 machines. There's a Fax component on the
W98 CD under Windows Messaging that isn't apparent on the W98SE CD. Try the
work-around that Chuck mentioned. It certainly appears that it would work and
I'm going to try it on one of my W98SE machines.

Don't know why your LCD keeps "waking up". Perhaps the disk burning operation is
refreshing it?
