         Any layman who has *heard* Bose knows that comment is nothing more
than sour grapes.

         Maybe it doesn't meet with the standards of a smartass audiophile
who likes to measure sound frequencies that the human ear is incapable of
hearing, but I've been happy as can be with my Bose speakers as well as the
Wave radio they sell.

         And then there are people who will tell you how much better this
DVD player from Marantz that costs $1500 is than the $200 one from Sony,
but 99.9% of people couldn't tell the difference in the picture that each
delivers.

         I suspect the same is true when it comes to software DVD players,
and the people you refer to in reviewing these things are likely
ivory-tower weenies, completely out of touch with what "normal" people care
(or don't care) about.
