My Thinkpad came with the Mediamatics product which seems like
junk to me, both the original and the most recent "upgrade."
PowerDVD and WinDVD seemed really good based on trying them
out for a few DVDs. The others all seemed like junk. The
difference is so sharp I don't think it's even worth backing
up with a detailed list of plus and minus points.
Basically, I don't think a reviewer who fails to review junk
is necessarily failing to be authoritative. I concur with the
person who thinks PowerDVD and WinDVD are good, and I don't
understand why anyone who's interested enough to spend *hours*
watching DVDs would not take the time to download a few and try
them!
