First, I found stick-on replacement logos at Blue Star. $5 a set for the
560.
Second, after looking very closely at the logo, I noticed there is a very
small gap between the logo and the bezel.. So here's how I got around this,
I took a piece of clear packing tape and covered the whole logo and the
bezel. Next I took a hobbie knife (x-acto) and slowly ran the tip of the
blade around the logo following the gap.
After making the complete cut I just pulled off the extra tape. The logo
fully covered. I did another test on another bezel, gave it 4 coats, let it
dry and removed the tape. Slicker than snot on a doornob!
I've scanned the bezel with the logo and it's 99k. Looks really good, plus
if you ask for the scan. notice how sharp the lighting icon is. I will be
more than happy to send it to anyone that asks. Now after boogering up 3
bezels, and 10 hours of messing with this, I am completely sure you can
paint a non-rubber coated Thinkpad and make it look great! I hope this info
is of use to someone. DO I get a cookie now?
