Absence of L1 memory won't stop dose95, but will
impair it's speed.
Since dose95 is not all 32bit code, the differences
are not as dramatic. as with Warp or NT. But if you will benchmark
its performance using Norton or some similar
application, you will find that more is much better.
I bumped a desktop from 256 to 512 to 1M measuring
differences at the hardware and software levels along
the way. The differences were great.
Although an antique now, the test machine (AMD133,
L1 1Mb, RAM 48Mb, VESA) tests the same as a p90, when
it should test out as a p75. I can't remember if Norton benched
on PCI boards or not. But with no cache at all,
your guess is as good as mine, but a fair guess
might move things down to the p60 level.
In other words, add RAM to the max.
