In fact Krylon makes all kinds of weird stuff too, when I studied
Graphic Design (1978-80, pre-computers) I'm pretty sure we used
Krylon fixative (seals chalk, pastel, etc.) and something called
"Krylon Chrystal Clear" which was a clear glossy spray. They also
make a dulling spray, used it for things like killing reflection on
a stainless steel kettle before photographing.
You are correct that it's mostly durable enamel but i wanted to
mention that make other neat stuff too.
