Andrew,

>> Bill, do you find the Bihn cases scream, "computer inside"? What
about the colour scheme? I'm very tempted by something bright,
i.e. Blue or Crimson, but maybe all-black is safer from the
unobtrusive angle.<<

It's possible that a savy thief would know that there is a laptop inside,
but these bags really look like backpacks. I'm from New York City so of
course I prefer black. It looks less dirty over time.

>>"travelled over the world": does it fit as carry-on? Its specs
imply it does (at least wrt AA at 45" L+W+D, and AC at 9x15.5x21.5,
and UA at 9x14x22). When I was going to LA for a week at a time, I
found I could use an 8x13x18" wheeled bag as all my luggage, and my
Port computer bag stuffed to the brim as the second bag (this was
on AC and later CP, where each of two carry-on bags has a different
size limit), and no checked luggage.

Can you get clothes in it? (Assuming it fits as carry-on).

Do you find the LapDog is useable by itself as a short-term
computer bag? Have you tried the "Deluxe Shoulder Strap" with it?
(There appears to be no shoulder strap on the LapDog).<<

I always carry it on. Never had a problem with the airlines. Sometimes it
gets too full and I cannot get it into the overhead bin. Usually I take my
laptop out inside the lapdog and put it under the seat in front of me. The
one thing I do not like is when I take these small 10 seaters Nantucket.
They have to put the bag in the wing.

There is a lot of extra room in this bag. How you use it up to you. I
generally keep all my work related stuff in it, which is enough to make a
heavy load.

I often use the LapDog by itself for meetings and short-term jaunts. It has
a pocket that will hold few flattish things like my Palm and some papers.
Mine came with the shoulder strap. I guess Tom does not include it anymore.
Get the shoulder strap.

Good luck,
Bill

In fact Krylon makes all kinds of weird stuff too, when I studied
Graphic Design (1978-80, pre-computers) I'm pretty sure we used
Krylon fixative (seals chalk, pastel, etc.) and something called
"Krylon Chrystal Clear" which was a clear glossy spray. They also
make a dulling spray, used it for things like killing reflection on
a stainless steel kettle before photographing.

You are correct that it's mostly durable enamel but i wanted to
mention that make other neat stuff too.
