"My AMD133 (486 socket plug-in) tests the
same as a p90. The difference is produced
by more L1 cache."
The AMD133 is faster than an Intel 486-133 would be, if such a thing
existed.
The relative speed of the AMD chip depends a lot on the benchmark being
used;
I have a web page devoted to this
(http://www.math.hawaii.edu/~ross/cpu.shtml);
it says something about the popularity of old technology that it
continues to be
oft-viewed (over 1200 hits since I added a hit counter about a year
ago).
