Thanks for the suggestion Matt. That got me looking at the device manager as I
recall Win98 does not require separate sound drivers as they are bundled in.
But I did notice that there was an ! beside the internet sharing device I had
installed. I removed this and on re-boot the driver issue vanished. Now I do
want this service eventually but it looks like some research is going to be
required to bring it up.
