I'm sure that IBM/ATI will release certified drivers for the machine,
faster if there is some pressure.
Complain to IBM. (Have you checked www.atitech.com for more
information?)

Linux isn't going to help your problem with Q3 and SOF!

Subject: Windows ME: Open GL fails

I have tried various OpenGL/Direct3D games under ME, and they all get
stuck
5-10 minutes into the game, requiring a complete power-off to get out
of: Quake 3,
Soldier Of Fortune and a few others.

So, go to IBM's site, download the newer video drivers.

Windows ME will NOT let me install the Thinkpad A20m driver I downloaded
>from our Thinkpad site. It says "this driver is not certified by
Micro$oft, so I will
not install it." You can't even bypass that warning!

Surprise: Certification is a new trick by the "innovation company"
and second surprise, I bet certification is NOT free for those
companies.
Another ploy by the "innovators" to suck more cash out of all of us.

Time to reformat and install Linux... :(
